As Christians who are enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit, sharing the message of Jesus is everyone’s mission. After Pentecost, the gospel spread like wildfire from household to household and from province to province, as men and women personally shared the news of Jesus with friends, relatives, acquaintances, colleagues – everyone in their everyday lives.
Just before Jesus departed the earth, He made it clear that His plan to spread the Gospel included the entire world (Matthew 28:18-20). He instructed His followers to begin in JERUSALEM with the people in closest proximity to them . This is where they already spoke the language, knew the customs, and were known by fellow Jews and community members. Our closest proximity, our JERUSALEM, is Cleveland and surrounding communities where we live.
And Judea, Samaria, and ends of the earth ? God has already called people from our church, Church of Christ / Christian churches, and sent them to serve as missionaries to share the news about Jesus — to Minnesota (our JUDEA), to South Dakota (our SAMARIA), to Africa, India, the Philippines, to the Czech Republic (our ENDS OF THE EARTH). These are people we have connections with and support. We have partnered with them by providing financial resources for their work and by lifting them up in prayer.
